5 Minute Oasis for your Chest

Bring yourself into a comfortable position and your mind into a friendly attentiveness towards the inner processes in your body. Even though it's only a 5 Minute exercise, it's time just for you, so take a moment to detach from the activity you have been doing: You may just close your eyes and take a deep breath.

Step 1a

Step 1a – 1b

Open your arms towards the universe and - with a calm mind - let yourself receive whatever you need in this moment. Let it enter your fingers and arms as a very special energy and draw it into your center with your hands above each other or holding each other.
Do it several times, at least 3 times.

Step 1b

Step 2a

Step 2a – 2b

Become aware of the center of your chest and let your breath connect with it. Imagine your center is radiating through your ribcage ands is widening as your arms are opening the space towards the out-side –and shrinking as your arms are closing again. Let your breath follow this movement of expansion and contraction.

Step 2b

Step 3

Step 3

Let the breath's movement of step 2 continue while you're doing step3
Place your fingers under your armpit and with your thumb you’re gently massaging the area below your collar bone. By doing so you automaticly hit a very important point of the Lung Meridian (LU1) which helps to ease tight chests, cough and asthma.
Repeat it with the other side.

Step 4

Lift one arm and with the palm of the other hand you are massaging and vibrating gently the side of your ribcage to loosen the tissue and bring the breath and awareness into this area.
Repeat it with the other side.

Step 4

Step 5

Step 5

With loose fists you give all the bones in your chest a gentle tremolo,
so that the whole area becomes alive. While doing so you may let out a sound from within.

You may repeat step 1 again and notice how much fuller and freer your breathing is now.

Congratulations for taking the time to take care of yourself!
